Inclusion Insights
Bi+ inclusion. Real conversations. Lasting impact.
What is bi+ inclusion?
Bi+ inclusion means recognising and respecting people who are attracted to more than one gender — including those who identify as bisexual, pansexual, queer, or fluid. While bi+ people make up the largest segment of the LGBTQ+ population, they often face unique challenges — including invisibility, misunderstanding, and double discrimination both inside and outside the queer community. In the workplace, this can show up as feeling unseen in ERGs, assumptions in casual conversations, or the pressure to conform to either/or narratives.Bi+ inclusion isn’t just about visibility — it’s about making space for complexity, fluidity, and honest conversations. It’s about rethinking binaries, respecting lived experience, and designing cultures where people don’t feel they need to edit themselves to fit in.At bi.careers, we create space to explore this through clear, calm, human conversation — without judgment or jargon.Whether you’re an ERG lead, a DEI strategist, or a curious team looking to do better, we’re here to help you understand bi+ identities — and turn awareness into action.

Be an effective Ally
Bi+ Allyship: Practical Ways to Show Up
Creating an inclusive environment for bi+ people starts with small, intentional actions. Many bi+ individuals feel unseen or misunderstood — even within LGBTQ+ spaces. Whether you’re a colleague, leader, or friend, your support makes a real difference. Here are a few simple ways to be a more effective ally.Use inclusive language
Say “bi+” when referring to the wider community. It acknowledges the full spectrum of identities and shows intentionality.Don’t assume based on someone’s partner
A bi+ person in a same-gender or different-gender relationship is still bi+. Attraction is about more than current circumstances.Name bi+ people explicitly
Include the “B” when you say LGBTQ+. Say “bi+” in meetings, events, and comms. Visibility matters.Signal support in subtle ways
Even a brief mention of bi+ inclusion in a presentation or email helps people feel seen.Challenge stereotypes and myths
Speak up when you hear assumptions like “bi people are confused” or “it’s just a phase.” These ideas are harmful and incorrect.Keep learning — you don’t have to be perfect
Being a good ally isn’t about knowing everything. It’s about staying open, respectful, and willing to grow.Want to do more?
Share this resource with your team. Include bi+ perspectives in events and campaigns. And above all, keep the conversation going — inclusion is a journey, not a one-off.
